Grounds Supervisor required at East Hampshire Norse

Petersfield, East Hampshire - GU32 3QG

£40,980.81 per annum

40 hours per week

Monday to Friday, 6:30am-3pm

Norse East Hampshire is a highly successful contract services and frontline public service provider. The company supplies operations of grounds maintenance, trade waste and street cleansing services to the public and private sectors across the South East of England. We are currently seeking a Supervisor to our Grounds and Streets teams to provide effective supervision and coordination of day to day operations across streets and grounds services, grounds maintenance activities and programmed activities such as leaf fall clearance, winter gritting operations, grass cutting, shrub maintenance and litter picking schedules. This role is key to ensuring our service delivery meets contractual, safety, environmental and customer standards.

 
 

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Operational Supervision

  • Supervise and coordinate daily operations across, streets and grounds maintenance
  • Ensuring works are carried out safely, efficiently and to specification.
  • Ensure all operational activities meet contractual requirements, service level agreements (SLAs) and client expectations.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure full compliance with company policies, risk assessments and safe systems of work.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards, promote safe working practices and minimise risk.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, company policies and client requirements.
  • Lead, motivate and performance manage employees through guidance, coaching and instruction.
  • Ensure staff are trained, competent and deployed effectively to meet service demands.
  • Ensure all vehicles, plant and equipment are operated safely and in compliance with legislation.
  • Manage operations within agreed budgets and control expenditure.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with customers, contractors, regulators and statutory bodies. 

Essential Requirements

  • IT competence, including MS Office and operational computer systems
  • Good overall knowledge of streets, grounds and environmental services (desirable)
  • Previous supervisory experience in a similar operational environment.
