Damp and Mould Surveyor

£50,000 per annum

Alliance Norse is a partnership between Norse Commercial Services Ltd, High Peak Borough Council and Staffordshire Moorlands District Council, offering repairs and maintenance services across the Councils’ properties, alongside caretaking and cleaning services, delivering major investment projects, and an improved housing repairs service. 

We have a new career opportunity for a Damp and Mould Surveyor to join our repairs team. This is a full-time post, providing an essential service to ensure the quality of both commercial and domestic properties is achieved throughout the High Peak and Staffordshire areas by addressing damp and mould issues through proactive maintenance and repair initiatives. 

You will be required to

  • Conduct detailed surveys and inspections of both domestic and commercial properties across the region to diagnose and assess, damp, mould and condensation issues. 
  • Generate reports on findings including recommendations and specifications for remedial works that will address the identified defects. 
  • Consult with contractors and internal teams to identify, instruct and manage works, ensuring works are completed in a timely manner as well as meeting the diverse customers’ needs in the preparation and delivery of works.  
  • Manage and monitor contractors input in repairing and completing works. This includes conducting post inspection of completed works to ensure the work is completed to a high standard. 
  • Deliver high levels of customer care throughout project stages ranging from inception through to completion. 
  • Provide expert technical support, advice and guidance on damp and mould management to colleagues and stakeholders. 
  • Provide expertise to assist in the review processes to continuously improve the resolution of Damp and mould issues. 
  • Support Head of service, ops manager and supervisors in order for them to carry out their works to the highest standards. 

The successful applicant; 

  • Will have a construction background with a minimum of an HNC in a property/ construction related discipline. 
  • Qualified to industry standards: Certificated Surveyor of Remedial Treatments (CSRT); Certificated Surveyor in Structural Waterproofing (CSSW); or Certificated Surveyor in Timber and Damp in Buildings (CSTDB) 
  • Proven experience in surveying Damp and Mould in both commercial and domestic dwellings
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with various stakeholders. 
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to addressing issues. 
  • A full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle is essential for this role.

  • Competitive salary up to £50,000 DoE
