Norse Catering deliver fantastic, locally sourced menus to residents in Norfolk Care Homes created with customer feedback in mind to ensure mealtimes are something to look forward to. 

 

We have an exciting opportunity for a Cook to join the team at Cranmer House, our residential care home in Fakenham, working 10.5 hours per week across a two-week rota: 

*           Week 1: Wed 07:30-11:00, Thurs 15:00-18:30 & Fri 15:00-18:30 

*           Week 2: Fri 07:30-18:30, Sat & Sun 07:30-11:00 

 

Joining Norse Catering will provide you with a fulfilling role, becoming part of a team that provides nutritious, balanced, and healthy meals to our customers. 

 

Main responsibilities will include: 

As Cook you will play a key role in the delivery of the daily catering service, including deputising for the Cook Manager: 

  • Preparing, cooking, and serving of food, ensuring the dietary requirements of residents are met 
  • Supporting with the training of the catering team to maintain excellent customer service 
  • Complying with Health and Safety and food hygiene procedures, ensuring these are always adhered to 
  • Creating innovative displays and meals to promote healthy food choices 

What are we looking for from you? 

You will have previous experience working in a busy kitchen environment with an organised approach to tasks, alongside a good understanding of the food industry, costs and working to a set budget. 

 

A passion for delivering fantastic customer service is essential, and we will be looking for you to demonstrate strong communication skills with a adaptable approach to work. 

 

Ideally you will have some knowledge of relevant legislation such as Health and Safety and the Food Safety Act however full training can be provided.
