Catering Supervisor

37 Hours per week
To deliver a high quality, efficient and economical catering service at Medway Norse Catering Sites at the Country Parks and Theatre Bars. To meet quality, performance and operational targets set and maintain first class individual working relationships with the catering team, customers and staff within Medway Council and Medway Norse. The sites operate 7 days per week; therefore, there is a requirement to work weekends on a rota.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide a high quality catering service with a key driver being the maximum income and profitability from sales of food and drinks.
- Ensure adherence to catering budgets by the effective control of expenditure.
- Always maintain the catering areas in a clean and tidy condition.
- Maintain the highest standards of customer care and service and to participate in the implementation of Medway Norse Policies.
- Liaise with hirers, external clients, Medway Council Team Members and all other business users of the catering service to ensure the catering needs for functions and events are met, and work and service patterns are planned accordingly.
- Absolute adherence to all food hygiene regulations and compliance with Environmental Health Officer audit reports.
- To support the recruitment and appointment of catering staff.
- To personally carry out the initial induction and training of newly appointed catering staff.
- To ensure compliance of self and all relevant Catering Services staff with Health and Safety Regulations.
- To check and authorise stock indents, stock returns, overtime claims and timesheets.
Candidate Requirements:
- Hold a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
- NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Catering or a related discipline
- Minimum of 2 years Catering experience
- Have experience of managing teams in a similar role
- Bar work experience
- Ability to work effectively within a small team where strong communication is essential to success.
- Full, clean Driving Licence
- Hold a First Aid Certificate
- Available for weekend and evening working
