Assistant Facilities Manager

Location: Bowthorpe Care Village (BCV)

 

We are looking for an organised, proactive, and people-focused Assistant Facilities Manager to support the delivery of our Facilities Management (FM) service contract at Bowthorpe Care Village. This role plays a key part in ensuring our site remains safe, compliant, well-maintained, and welcoming for everyone who lives, works, or visits here.

You will work across a broad range of FM areas including health & safety, maintenance, compliance, procurement, contractor management, and project support. You will also lead the Domestic, Laundry, and Site Support teams, helping to create a warm and caring environment that reflects the Norse Group Values and culture.

This role works closely with the Housing with Care and Dementia Care Home Managers, the Catering Operations Manager, and Saffron Housing Management.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery and coordination of all FM services to meet agreed service levels.
  • Act as a main point of contact for day-to-day facilities queries and operational issues.
  • Help plan, manage, and monitor essential services to ensure full regulatory and health & safety compliance.
  • Oversee the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard.
  • Manage all administrative tasks in relation to CAFM system.
  • Produce purchase orders and work orders as required.
  • Liaise with contractors, suppliers, stakeholders, and site users regarding ongoing works.
  • Support and coordinate facilities-related projects when required.
  • Lead and support the Domestic, Laundry, and Site Support teams in daily operations.
  • Assist the Facilities Manager and/or Contracts Manager as needed.
  • Undertake general administrative tasks and other duties appropriate to the role.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Organised and able to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Confident in communicating with staff, residents, contractors, and stakeholders
  • Knowledgeable about health & safety and building compliance (or willing to learn)
  • Comfortable leading small teams and supporting a positive workplace culture
  • Proactive, reliable, and committed to maintaining high service standards
  • A full UK driving licence
