Area Supervisor required in Norwich for Norse Transport Division

Norwich, Norfolk – NR6 6EQ

£35,425.43 per annum

45 hours per week, Monday to Friday

 

Norse Group Transport Division has been operating for over 40 years providing daily services across Norfolk. We currently seek an Area Supervisor to join our team based at our head office on Fifers Lane in Norwich, Norfolk.

 

The role

You will oversee all minibus activities within an allocated area, ensuring the needs of users are met. Reporting to your line manager on all operational and staffing issues, managing rota's and resolving day-to-day operational issues.

The service provides transport to and from day care centres and schools to clients with a range of physical and emotional needs, therefore it is essential that our colleagues understand the importance of supporting those needs whilst safely undertaking their role.

 

Applicants must hold a full, clean driving licence with category D1 entitlement. In addition, our successful candidate will have excellent communication and will be comfortable making decisions unsupervised and under pressure.

 

Main Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Reporting to your Line Manager, undertake regular, routine inspections monitoring all aspects of the allocated sites minibus vehicle activities ensuring that defects are reported and any irregularities, inconsistencies or issues of concern are addressed.
  • To resolve disputes and any day-to-day operational issues that arise and refer major issues to the Transport Manager.
  • Participate in the Recruitment and Selection of personnel.
  • Coordinating the Staff rotas and routes to ensure operational requirements are met considering holiday, sickness and other absences.
  • Ensure Norse policies on Health and Safety, Safeguarding and incident reporting are adhered to.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Full, clean UK Driving Licence with a category D1 entitlement
  • Good Geographical knowledge of the local area
  • Good Communication Skills
  • Skilled in IT systems and software
  • Ability to manage a busy workload
