Painter & Decorator 

Medway

£24,252.80

40 hours per week (Monday - Friday)

 

Medway Norse is one of the biggest joint ventures within Norse Group, partnering with Medway Council to deliver a growing number of frontline public services to residents, such as  Building Maintenance Grounds Maintenance, transport, etc.

 

The Painter will be responsible for providing a professional quality and customer-oriented painting and decorating service to customers.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Undertake all types of internal and external painting and decoration works including wall papering.
  • Ensure the correct quantity of materials are needed for the job by taking surface measurements and by looking at job specifications or drawings.
  • Ensure temporary tower scaffolding (after completion of certified training), and ladders are erected correctly.
  • Ensure the safe use and application of all decorating materials.
  • Working at heights either by ladder or scaffold and recognise and use necessary safety equipment.
  • Responsible for identifying new business opportunities.
  • This role requires frequent travel to other offices and sites as required.
  • This role requires a full driving licence.
  • Carry out duties appropriate to the grade of the post.
  • Promote continuous improvement and deliver demonstrable high-quality products and services which embrace quality standards.
  • Demonstrate personal commitment to the Norse Way CSR strategy.

Candidate Requirements 

  • City and Guilds or NVQ Level 2 in Painting and Decorating
  • PASMA mobile access tower scaffold training card or be prepared to obtain
  • Experience in a similar or related role
  • Experience of all types of painting (maintenance and day to day) and the use of painting equipment.
  • Ability to work at heights and within confined spaces.
  • Familiar with COSHH regulations.
  • Familiar with relevant construction, health and safety legislation, and risks and hazards associated with asbestos.
  • Full UK driving license.

An enhanced DBS check will be required for our successful candidate, payment will be met by the employer.
