Monday to Friday, 8:15am to 4:15pm

 

Newport Norse represents the highly successful joint venture between Norse Group and Newport City Council, providing soft and hard FM services across the local area.

We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Labourer for Newport. You will be responsible for providing a high quality, professional and customer orientated service in assisting with a range of physical tasks related to reactive repairs and pre-planned refurbishment works across a portfolio of commercial and residential properties. 

*A full UK Driving Licence is required to accompany the travel associated with this role*

 

Main Duties

  • Supporting skilled tradespeople in the undertaking and completion of maintenance and construction works.
  • Ensuring all activities undertaken conform to the relevant risk assessments, safe systems of work and/or health and safety legislation.
  • Undertaking manual handling activities safely – loading, unloading, transporting goods, materials, and equipment.
  • Maintaining accurate records of works completed, time, materials, and job status on allocated mobile devices.
  • Supporting effective communication between other tradespeople, Works Coordinators, clients, and stakeholders by maintaining an open and flexible approach.

This position is being offered on a part time, permanent contract working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 8:15am to 4:15pm

We are looking for someone who has knowledge and experience in the following

  • Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation related to buildings, minor works, and the workplace.
  • Holds a current site card or is prepared to immediately attain Have undertaken training (or be prepared to undertake), with good working knowledge in the safe operation of minor machinery and other common power tools.
  • Have undertaken recognised and accredited training (or be prepared to undertake) in relevant safety concerns such as manual handling, working at height, ladders and similar.
  • Experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
