£28,688.40

45 Hours per week

 

Medway Norse are recruiting for a Team Leader to join the team working from our site in Gillingham, Chatham or Rochester on a permanent, 5 on and 2 off basis.

 

Our HWRC teams operate over multiple sites in Medway, providing a full waste management and recycling service to the public.

 

As Team Leader you will oversee the day-to-day operation of the on-site team to ensure that an efficient waste recycling service is provided, managing employee activity, daily rotas and targets under the direction of the Site Supervisor.

 

Main responsibilities:

  • Ensure all site activities fall within what is allowed via the sites permits
  • Supply information to the Site Supervisor for weekly COTC report
  • Advise and assist members of the general public to deposit waste at the recycling centre, ensuring the different types of waste are placed in the correct container or location
  • Ensure that members of the general public are treated in a helpful and courteous manner by the team
  • Taking responsibility for day-to-day shift management, managing timesheet collection and attendance of the operatives
  • Reporting any accidents or instances where there is a near miss, dealing with and completing accident/incident investigation forms when appropriate

 

Key Requirements:

 

You will have proven experience within the waste management industry alongside:

 

*         Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

*         Experience managing and supervising teams – desirable

*         Previous experience undertaking risk assessments – desirable

*         Experience delivering training, including toolbox talks – desirable

*         Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

*         Able to work to own initiative and as part of a team
