Norse Groups Support Services Division has an exciting opportunity within our Finance Department for a Financial Accountant to join the team based at our Head Office on Fifers Lane. This role is on a fixed term contract, working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

The Role:

Requires a fully qualified financial accountant with a good understanding of business taxes. To include but not limited to VAT (in particular domestic reverse charge), corporation tax and PSA returns,

Requires attention to detail and an individual who has strong technical knowledge

  • Preparation of statutory accounts in accordance with the relevant international and UK accounting standards.
  • Assisting with cash-flow forecasting, modelling and monitoring projections for the Norse Group.
  • Preparation of the Group finance pack, which is distributed to the business on a monthly basis.
  • Preparation of VAT return workings and associated reconciliations.
  • Overseeing the preparation of the corporation tax returns in conjunction with external advisors.
  • Assisting in the management of the external audit process and liaise with internal auditors where necessary.

You will have previous experience within a similar Financial Accountant role within a busy and diverse business, alongside:

  • Recognised professional finance / accounting qualification and ongoing membership, including ACCA, ACA or equivalent
  • Technical knowledge and experience of applying both IFRS and UK GAAP (FRS 101) accounting standards
  • Good understanding of tax rules and legislation (particularly in relation to VAT)
  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to communicate across senior levels
  • Able to effectively manage your workload within a deadline driven environment
