We are currently offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Engineer to join our team based in Buxton. This full-time role, working 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday, involves servicing, maintaining, and installing care equipment for a diverse range of customers across Derbyshire, as well as extending support to clients in Leeds, Chesterfield and Bradford.

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and correct servicing of products in line with LOLER regulations and health and safety practices around contractors. You will carry out ongoing servicing and maintenance of equipment across all covered regions, helping to ensure continued safety and functionality for service users. The types of equipment you will work with include stairlifts, through-floor lifts, ceiling track hoists and other essential mobility and care products. You will also be responsible for signing off Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) funded works, ensuring contractor installations meet all required standards and specifications.

 

Your role will also involve demonstrating the safe operation and maintenance of these products to service users, their relatives, or carers, ensuring full understanding and confidence in their use. You will also be required to:

  • Survey properties to assess and plan the servicing and maintenance of baths, stairlifts, and overhead hoisting equipment for Local Authorities and private customers, ensuring all work aligns with company guidelines and regulatory standards.
  • Install and maintain equipment including ceiling track hoists and stairlifts.
  • Carry out Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) prestart meetings, works in progress meetings and sign-off of DFG adaptations, ensuring contractor work meets required standards and quality expectations.
  • Assist other adaptation technicians and engineers on larger projects as needed.

 

Our Successful candidate:

We are looking for an experienced Engineer with extensive experience within a similar role installing, maintaining & servicing equipment and adaptations. Alongside this, you will be required to display:

  • Proven experience in installing, servicing, and maintaining care equipment and adaptations.
  • Strong understanding of LOLER regulations and Health & Safety practices.
  • Familiarity with fitting methods for major adaptations in domestic settings.
  • Experience working in residential homes or care environments (desirable).
  • Ability to communicate effectively and adapt demonstrations to suit individual needs.
  • Full UK Drivers Licence to meet travel requirements for the role
