Deputy Kitchen Manager – South West Norse

  • Location: Pinhoe Primary School, EX4 8PE
  • Salary: £27,955.20 pro rata, equates to £13.44 per hour
  • Hours: 22.5
  • Shift pattern: Monday to Friday, 09.30 - 14:00, term time only
  • Contract: Fixed Term (September 2024 - June 2025)

South West Norse is established in delivering catering, cleaning, and facilities management services to a portfolio of clients in the local region in partnership with Devon County Council, combining local knowledge with service delivery expertise.

As we recognise the importance of building a strong kitchen team to be a key ingredient to our catering success, we currently have a new excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Deputy Kitchen Manager join our team at Pinhoe Primary School on a fixed term, basis until June 2025.

The role

As a Deputy Kitchen Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the management of the on-site catering team; ensuring completion of the preparation, cooking, presentation and service of food and beverages to students and staff alike are always ready on time and are both inviting and well stocked, always providing customer satisfaction. Within this role, duties will consist of:

  • Ensure the team always operate and uphold with all aspects of the current Health and Safety at Work and the Food Safety Act and all other relevant legislation.
  • Assist the Kitchen Manager with the Completion of all kitchen documentation on daily, weekly, and monthly basis e.g., Trading Return, Stock takes etc.
  • Using the till, handling of cash & card payments during break and lunch services if applicable.
  • Assist with the service of meals and refreshments.
