Compliance Technician (Internal)

Medway Norse

£27,124 to £33,092

37 Hours per week

 

The Statutory and Compliance Technician will provide efficient support in assisting the Head of Hard FM with all aspects of PMA from planning appointments, through to Sub-Contractor management. To monitor and maintain all servicing and inspections in line with local and legal legislation for both Council Corporate properties and Schools PPM.

 

Main Responsibilities:

 

*         Be the lead in planning all annual, quarterly, monthly, and weekly maintenance scheduling for Council Corporate properties and schools PPM.

*         Locally manage and oversee Sub-Contractors to conduct planned maintenance, safety checks and legal compliance.

*         Accurately maintain records, files, and uploads on a range of systems (including Council based requirements) to ensure process and procedures are followed in line with statutory requirements.

*         Identify and manage non-conformities upon receipt of contractors reports in order to price and rectify the defect to ensure compliance is achieved.

*         Produce documents and reports for both internal and external parties as required on a monthly, quarterly, and annually basis.

*         Capture and analyse data to ensure compliance in the planned maintenance and make recommendations against performance or suggestion of actions to be taken to influence future direction of the service.

*         Attend a monthly meeting with the Council’s FM Contracts Manager to discuss PPM and provide details of upcoming works along with highlighting any issues or areas of concern.

*         Support the Head of Hard FM in the procurement and supply of Sub-Contractors ensuring value for money and accountability.

*         Maintain Sub-Contractor files including the auditing of Insurance Policies, Risk Assessments, Method Statements and COSHH on an annual basis to ensure compliance.

 

Key Requirements:

 

*         No formal qualifications are required however competence in the understanding of building maintenance is desirable.

*         Ability to manage time effectively, workload and setting appropriate deadlines.

*         Good standard of numeracy and literacy.

*         Strong IT in Microsoft Word / Excel.

*         Good knowledge/understanding of health and safety requirements i.e., COSHH, Risk Assessments and Method Statements [training provided]

*         Awareness of BSRIA statutory compliance legislation and approved codes of practice.
