Assistant Payroll Business Partner 

37 Hours per week

Norse Groups Support Services Division offers a variety of internal services that support the wider group and one of our key departments is our internal payroll team based at our Head Office in Norwich.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Payroll Business Partner to join our team on a permanent contract working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

The role

As Assistant Payroll Business Partner you will be responsible for undertaking a number of duties within the payroll department, these will include maintaining accurate payroll information, managing and overseeing the running of small payrolls whilst assisting with more complex payrolls when required. Other duties will also include;

  • Escalating any service issues to the Payroll Business Partner, helping to identify effective solutions.
  • Maintain quality control measures and audit processes.
  • Maintaining and developing an awareness of Payroll policies, procedures and legislation.
  • Manage enquiries within the team and from external sources, ensuring excellent customer care is provided.

Our successful candidate 

Our successful candidate will ideally have previous experience using relevant payroll systems alongside;

  • Previous experience within a similar payroll position in a busy environment
  • A clear understanding of Statutory pension requirements and returns, ideally with knowledge of operation Local Government Pension Schemes
  • Excellent IT skills including the use of Microsoft Office tools – particularly Excel
  • Ability to work in a deadline driven environment, and prioritise your workload accordingly
